We currently have Ajayi, Blount, Clement, Smallwood, Sproles, Pumphrey and Barner. We need to trim this down..so what to do?
I personally want to see Sproles finish as an Eagle. Perhaps keep him on special teams? Smallwood has been plagued by durability issues. Pumphrey / Barner are low impact at this point. I say go with what is working…Ajayi, Sproles (SpecTeam), Blount and Clement. That should be sufficient.
With Sproles entering his UFA year, and desiring to finish this season with the Eagles, I think he would take a team friendly deal. Smallwood and Pumphrey are small contracts that could be easily absorbed by any team needing a scat-back style RB.
